abstract = {The Purepecha people are currently partly dispersed and abandoning their language, as a consequence of the loss of lands and immigration. Nevertheless, they try to conserve their identity as indigenous people, an identity centered on their peculiar way of celebrating certain festivities. At the same time they try to strengthen their own organization at the local level and thrgouh the general coordination of the Purepecha Supreme Council.},
