abstract = {Este artículo acomete la labor de sintetizar y exponer el pensamiento de Edgar Morin sobre la cuestión de la unidad/diversidad humanas. Morin reivindica, contra el racismo y el humanismo idealista, la unidad biológica de la especie humana. Intenta concebir la unidad y diversidad, así como lo biológico y lo cultural del hombre, no ya de manera separada y excluyente, sino en sus interrelaciones complejas. Contra el fundamentalismo occidentalocéntrico homogeneizante, aboga por un reconocimiento crítico de los valores de las otras culturas y por el respeto hacia ellas. La constitución real y efectiva de una humanidad planetaria debería suponer al mismo tiempo la plena y conjunta realización de la unidad y de la diversidad humanas.},
abstract = {This article tackles the problem of the synthesis and presentation of Edgar Morin's thoughts on the question pf human unity/diversity. Morin vindicates, opposing racism and idealistic humanism, the biological unity of the human species. He tries to conceive of unity and diversity, as well as man's biological and cultural dimensions, by focusing on their complex interrelations, rather than separating and exluding them. Against western-centered, homogenizing fundamentalism, he advocates critical recognition of and respect for other cultures' values. The real and effective constitution of a planetary humanity should suppose at once the full and combined accomplishment of human unity and diversity.},
