However, the best treatment for different stages of AA remains a challenge, given the wide variety of available therapeutic options. This consensus document on the management of AA follows a Delphi method, in which 23 dermatologists from the Spanish Hair Research Group of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology have participated. After two rounds of voting, 101 of the 125 proposed items (81%) were agreed upon, structured in 5 groups of recommendations: generalities, localized AA, moderate AA, extensive AA, and special situations. The objective of this national consensus is to support health professionals in the management of AA, based on expert consensus and available scientific evidence.}, organization = {Spanish Hair Research Group}, publisher = {Elsevier}, keywords = {Alopecia Areata}, keywords = {Management}, keywords = {Clinical guideline}, title = {Consensus Document on the Clinical Management of Alopecia Areata: Recommendations from the Spanish Hair Research Group of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venerology)}, doi = {10.1016/j.ad.2026.104609}, author = {Saceda, D. and Arias Santiago, Salvador Antonio and Barrutia, A. and Combalia, A. and Boz, J. del and Garnacho, G. and Lobato Berezo, A. and Vañó Galván, S.}, }
