abstract = {La actividad musical de las parroquias y conventos de Madrid en el periodo Barroco nos resulta aún prácticamente desconocida a pesar de su relevancia. Este vacío tiene su origen en la dificultad que plantea abarcar un fenómeno tan amplio y, sobre todo, a la ausencia de fuentes directas, siendo necesario buscar información sobre dicha actividad a través de documentación alternativa. En el presente artículo estudiaremos dos impresos, denominados “Diarios Festivos”, que serán de gran importancia para nuevas investigaciones en este contexto ya que recogen y describen parte de las fiestas religiosas que se celebraban en las iglesias de la capital a lo largo de todo el año, incluyendo multitud de referencias a la música que se hacía en ellas. A través de estos datos hemos podido elaborar un calendario aproximado de las celebraciones religiosas con música que se hacían anualmente en algunos de los principales templos de Madrid en la primera mitad del siglo XVIII.},

practically unknown, despite its importance.This situation is a result of the difficulty of dealing with such a
broad phenomenon and, especially, the lack of direct sources, meaning other documentation is needed for information about this activity.The present article examines two printed documents termed“Diarios Festivos”(Festive
Diaries), which will be very important for any further research into this context, as they describe some of the religious feasts that were celebrated in the churches of the capital throughout the year, including many references to the
music that accompanied them.This information has been used to assemble a rough calendar of the religious celebrations involving music that were held annually in some of the main churches in Madrid during the first half of
the eighteenth century.},
