abstract = {El uso de la grafía árabe es un rasgo muy destacable de los textos mudéjares y moriscos,
originales o traducidos. Este aspecto, no suficientemente destacado por los especialistas, ha sido
explicado en virtud de dos hipótesis: la del secretismo y la de la sacralidad. En el presente articulo,
partiendo del concepto de etnicidad, se define el uso de la grafía árabe como un mecanismo simbólico
de identificación étnica que, al momento de la expulsión, había perdido buena parte de su capacidad
funcional. Desde esta perspectiva, el uso de la grafía árabe es coherente con cualquiera de los otros
rasgos que definen la línea de traducción islámica.},
abstract = {The use of Arabic charaeters is an important feature of both translated and original Morisco
and Mudejar texts. This aspect, not emphasized enough by scholars, has been explained by two
hypotheses: that of secrecy and that of consecration. In this article, starting from the concept of
ethnicity, the use of Arabic characters is explained as a symbolic mechanism of ethnic identification.
A mechanism that had lost a great degree of its functionality by the time of the expulsion. From this
point of view, the use of Arabic characters is coherent with all the other distinctive features which
define the line of Islamic translation.},
