abstract = {Durante al menos tres décadas, entre finales del siglo
XIX y principios del siglo XX, Granada vivió un fenómeno
económico, urbanístico y social trascendental. De la mano
de una innovadora tecnología vinculada con la industria,
se fueron sucediendo una serie de acontecimientos que
contextualizan el conjunto de factores que estimularon a
la ciudad hacia la innovación de sus infraestructuras en un
imparable proceso de modernización, lo que trascendería
a la forma vida de sus ciudadanos y su, hasta el momento,
concepto de confort.
Esta incipiente inquietud por la prosperidad se materializa con
la inversión, por parte de algunos de los empresarios en la
gestación del gran proyecto conmemorativo del V Centenario
del descubrimiento de América. Desde el nuevo modelo
jurídico-técnico, se inicia una etapa de reforma urbana que,
junto a operaciones de realineación, apertura de espacios
urbanos, creación de infraestructuras y prolongación del
embovedado del rio Darro y del tranvía, culminaría con
la apertura de la Gran Vía de Colón dentro del entramado
urbano consolidado de la ciudad de Granada.},
abstract = {For at least three decades, between the end of the 19th
century and the beginning of the 20th century, Granada
experienced a transcendental economic, urban and social
phenomenon. Hand in hand with an innovative technology
linked to the industry, a series of events that contextualize the
set of factors that stimulated the city towards the innovation of
its infrastructures in an unstoppable modernization process,
took place. This fact would transcend the way of life of its
citizens and its, up to now, concept of comfort.
This incipient concern for prosperity materializes with the
investment, by some of the entrepreneurs in the gestation
of the great commemorative project of the V Centenary of
the Discovery of America. From the new legal-technical
model, a stage of urban reform begins that, together with
realignment operations, opening of urban spaces, creation of
infrastructures, the tramway and extension of the vaulting of
the Darro river, would culminate with the opening of the “Gran
Vía de Colón” within the consolidated urban framework of the
city of Granada.},
