This initiative addresses the pressing need for effective integration strategies in Europe, particularly in Melilla, Spain, which has a land border with Africa. Objectives: The INCLUSO Project aims to assess the impact of University Service-Learning (USL) interventions on students' prosocial competencies, critical thinking, and social commitment while promoting language acquisition and cultural understanding among migrant groups. The project evaluates the effects of USL in intercultural education, language learning, and physical activity, on both university students and migrant communities, focusing on inclusion and social justice. Additionally, it seeks to understand personal experiences and changes in attitudes. The project also aims to establish the best practice indicators for USL interventions. Method: The project employs a longitudinal research design with a mixed methodology, involving a 10-week USL intervention where university students of Education and Sport Science areas collaborate with migrant communities. Qualitative data collection methods include reflective journals, focus groups, and interviews, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of personal experiences and skill development. On the other hand, the students´ prosocial competencies, attitudes towards social justice, cultural diversity behaviours and USL impact are measured by four questionnaires (quantitative data collection method). Results: Preliminary findings indicate that participation in the USL program significantly enhances students’ social justice attitudes, critical thinking skills, and commitment to prosocial behaviour. Additionally, migrant participants report improved language skills and greater confidence in social interactions. The study highlights the transformative potential of USL promoting intercultural understanding and social inclusion, providing valuable insights for future educational policies and practices.}, organization = {Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Government of Spain; and European Regional Development Found, European Union, 10.13039/501100011033, PID2022-141644OB-I00}, publisher = {Universidad de Almería}, keywords = {Experiential learning}, keywords = {Intercultural contexts}, keywords = {Language acquisition}, title = {Intercultural Education, Language Learning and Physical Activity of University Students thorough Service-Learning with Migrants in Europe's land border with Africa: The INCLUSO Project}, doi = {10.25115/ecp.v18i37.10364}, author = {Hooli, Eeva-Maria and Santos-Pastor, María Luisa and González Fernández, Francisco Tomás and Ortega Martín, José Luis and López Vallejo, María Ángeles and Martínez-Muñoz, L.
