abstract = {El artículo pretende la caracterización del paisaje cultural de Canfranc y el alto valle del río Aragón (Huesca, España), y el análisis de su evolución histórica, a través de las imágenes que ha generado a lo largo del tiempo. Un paisaje definido por su situación estratégica de frontera con Francia en un estrecho valle de la cordillera pirenaica, lo que le otorga un fuerte sesgo defensivo/militar y una fuerte connotación simbólica. Sus primeras representaciones conocidas provienen de la cartografía y la planimetría históricas del siglo XVI, aunque fue y ha sido la fotografía (y su reproducción) el medio más utilizado para testimoniar los cambios experimentados por este territorio, especialmente a partir de las primeras décadas del siglo XX, a raíz de la apertura del túnel y la estación internacional, y puede ser también una potente herramienta en la gestión patrimonial y en el trabajo que se está llevando a cabo con las comunidades patrimoniales.},
abstract = {This article aims to characterise the cultural landscape of Canfranc and the upper valley of the Aragon River (Huesca, Spain), and to analyse its historical evolution through the images that it has generated over the time. A landscape defined by its strategic location on the border with France in a narrow valley of the Pyrenean mountain range, which gives it a strong defensive/military bias and a strong symbolic connotation. Its first known representations come from the historical mapping and planimetry of the 16th century, although photography (and its reproduction) was and has been the most used method to bear witness to the changes experienced by this territory, especially from the first decades of the 20th century, following the opening of the tunnel and the international station, and can also be a powerful tool in heritage management and in the work being carried out with the heritage communities.},
