abstract = {La denominada Cuarta Revolución Industrial viene acompañada de una alteración profunda del
mercado laboral. Las nuevas tecnologías traen consigo nuevas formas de prestación de servicios y nuevas
actividades profesionales, pero también conllevará la desaparición de numerosos puestos de trabajo. Esta
nueva realidad productiva, y la velocidad de su desarrollo, supondrá la existencia de personas desubicadas en
términos profesionales, expulsadas o incapacitadas para el trabajo del futuro, tanto por falta de competencias,
como por la simple falta de trabajo. Esto sumado a los problemas demográficos y los cambios vinculados a la
crisis climática, supondrá para nuestro Estado Social un enorme reto y, sin duda, un esfuerzo nuevo y diferente
a la realidad existente cuando se configuró su estructura original. El Sistema de Seguridad Social, como
principal instrumento de protección social, principal garante de nuestro Estado Social, si quiere cumplir con
esa finalidad tendrá que adaptarse. En este capítulo evaluaremos la nueva y compleja realidad, y hasta qué
punto conllevará la necesidad de un replanteamiento de nuestro sistema de protección social, y en general, de
nuestra cultura del trabajo y, consecuentemente, de vida. En este contexto, la Renta Básica Universal se perfila
como una interesante propuesta que será objeto de análisis en este trabajo.},
abstract = {The so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution is accompanied by a profound change in the labor market. The new technologies bring with them new ways of providing services and new professional activities, but they will also lead to the disappearance of many jobs. This new productive reality and the speed of its development will mean the existence of people who are out of place in professional terms, expelled or incapacitated for the job of the future, both due to a lack of skills as well as a simple lack of work. All this, added to demographic problems, and changes linked to the climate crisis, will mean an enormous challenge
for our Social State and, without a doubt, a new and different effort from the existing reality when its original
structure was configured. The Social Security System, as the main instrument of social protection and the main guarantor of our Social State, will have to adapt both its structure and financing, if it wants to fulfill its
purposes. This new and complex reality will entail the need to rethink our social protection system and, in general, our culture of work and, consequently, of life. In this context, the Universal Basic Income is emerging as a interesting proposal that will be analyzed in this work.},
