abstract = {The essays collected in this volume discuss the ways in which Valeriano Bozal has contributed, through his work as an art historian and theorist, to the analysis of aesthetic categories. As the title suggests, aesthetic categories are systems of classification and evaluation that, beyond works of art, allow us to perceive and make sense of aspects of history and reality that would otherwise remain hidden. In a broad sense, aesthetic categories are understood as those concepts specific to reflection on art, originating in art criticism, art history, and the philosophy of art. They are the concepts that shape our way of thinking about art and about our relationship with it.},
