abstract = {Este artículo estudia el desarrollo de la figura del soberano-gāzī, es decir, del gobernante
como conductor de la guerra santa, en al-Andalus a lo largo del siglo X (912-1008), así como
la utilización del discurso del ŷihād como herramienta de centralización, sobre todo en la
frontera. Se analizará cómo evoluciona la mencionada figura del soberano-gāzī en los
diferentes contextos, de qué elementos discursivos se rodea y qué funciones adquiere,
fundamentalmente legitimadoras. Asimismo, se abordará cómo esta guerra santa conducida
por el gobernante fue utilizada como instrumento de cohesión interna y de actuación de los
diferentes soberanos en la frontera, no solo contra enemigos externos, sino también
internos.},
abstract = {This paper studies the development of the figure of the ghāzī-ruler, that is, of the ruler that
leads the holy war, in al-Andalus throughout the tenth century (912-1008), as well as the use
of the discourse of jihād as a tool for centralization, especially at the frontier. It aims to
analyze how the abovementioned figure of the ghāzī-ruler evolves in different contexts,
what discursive elements are linked to it and what legitimazing roles it acquires. Likewise, it
will be discussed how this holy war led by the ruler was used as an instrument of internal
cohesion and action of the different sovereigns on the frontier, not only against external
enemies, but also internal ones.},
