abstract = {Este artículo se propone examinar el origen, desarrollo y futuro de la historia ambiental en la historiografía española. Se centrará en el creciente número de grupos de trabajo que han roto el esquema de la metodología convencional y se han abierto a las influencias de historiografías de otras realidades no europeas. El caso de Belo Horizonte ejemplifica cómo los estudios sobre este tema deben necesariamente tener en cuenta las peculiaridades políticas e históricas de las sociedades latinoamericanas, y cómo estas sociedades están imbricadas en redes transnacionales cuya significación política y social se manifiesta en fenómenos socioambientales.},
abstract = {This article proposes to examine the origin, development, and future of environmental history in Spanish historiography. It will focus on the increasing number of workgroups that have broken the mode of conventional methodology and opened themselves up to the influences of historiographies of other, non-European realities. The case of Belo Horizonte exemplifies how studies of this theme must necessarily take into account the political and historical peculiarities of Latin American societies, and how these societies are enmeshed in transnational networks whose political and social significance is manifested in socienvironmental phenomena.},
