abstract = {Los últimos años del régimen de la Restauración en España presenciaron una intensificación sin precedentes de la violencia sindical, conocida como el pistolerismo. Las agitaciones de este periodo culminaron en el golpe de Estado de Primo de Rivera en septiembre de 1923. Este artículo aborda un aspecto poco estudiado del pistolerismo: su dimensión judicial. La judicatura se implicó de buena gana en la represión de los sindicatos, aunque su acción se vio obstaculizada por importantes limitaciones de índole legal y material. Por tanto, el eje represivo se escoró hacia opciones extralegales: policías privadas, terrorismo antisindical y estados de excepción. La judicatura no se opuso a esta mudanza, sino que estableció una división del trabajo represivo con estas fuerzas, que conjuntamente socavaron las frágiles bases del régimen liberal y contribuyeron al surgimiento de las tendencias autoritarias que darían pie a la dictadura militar.},
abstract = {The last years of the Restoration regime in Spain witnessed an unprecedented intensification in violence against trade unions, known as pistolerismo. The turmoil of this period culminated in Primo de Rivera’s coup d’état in September 1923. This article tackles an understudied aspect of pistolerismo, namely its judicial dimension. The judiciary cracked down vigorously on the trade unions, but its actions were hindered by legal and material limitations, and the repression gradually adopted extralegal forms, such as vigilantism, anti-union terror, and states of exception. The judiciary, far from opposing this trend, established a division of repressive labour with these forces and, jointly, they undermined the fragile foundations of the liberal regime, fostering authoritarian tendencies that prepared the ground for dictatorship.},
