abstract = {En los años 50 los viajes estaban fuera del alcance de la mayoría de los arquitectos, pero las
publicaciones suplían con sus imágenes y comentarios esta carencia, acercando al público
español la obra extranjera.
Había publicaciones periódicas que llegaban exclusivamente a arquitectos; los boletines de
arquitectura, emitidos por organismos oficiales. El primero y de mayor difusión fue el de la
Dirección General de Arquitectura (DGA), que llegaba a los profesionales de todo el país.
En 1958, mismo año en que cesa la impresión del anterior, comienza el Boletín del Colegio
de Arquitectos de Madrid.
En este artículo buscamos conocer la transmisión que tuvo la arquitectura estadounidense
a través de estos boletines. ¿Qué publicaban acerca de los EEUU? ¿Con qué extensión y
frecuencia? ¿Qué herramientas de proyecto aportaban, de relevante utilidad para el colectivo
de los arquitectos? ¿Qué impacto tuvieron estas publicaciones en el público especializado?
¿A qué tipo de arquitectura remitían?},
abstract = {In the 1950s, travel was out of reach for most architects, but publications made up for this
deficiency by providing images and commentary on foreign works, bringing them closer to
the Spanish public. There were periodic publications that were exclusively for architects;
architecture bulletins issued by official bodies. The first and most widely disseminated was
the Bulletin of the General Directorate of Architecture (DGA), which reached professionals
throughout the country. In 1958, the same year that the previous bulletin ceased publication,
the Boletín del Colegio de Arquitectos de Madrid began.
In this article, we seek to understand the transmission of American architecture through
these bulletins. What did they publish about the United States? With what frequency and
length? What project tools did they provide that were of significant utility to the community
of architects? What impact did these publications have on the specialized public? To what
type of architecture did they refer?},
