abstract = {Focho realizará para la revista CAU más de 40 dibujos, viñetas e ilustraciones entre 1979 y
1982. Su última aportación son 10 páginas tituladas “El alojamiento moderno en España:
historia de constructores, vanguardias y soportes”, una historia gráfica sobre la vivienda
social desde 1920, donde despliega un dibujo cuidado y se utilizan con gran ingenio distintos
sistemas de representación. Esta comunicación se propone tres objetivos. En primer
lugar, tomando este singular ejemplo, contextualizar uno de los debates que centraron la
atención del panorama académico y profesional del momento. En segundo lugar, desgranar
las claves de este relato gráfico, que se acompaña de textos breves en una suerte de formato
comunicativo híbrido. Se pretende discutir, finalmente, como algunos estudios recientes
plantean, si el humor y entre ellos el gráfico, puede servirnos para la difusión y el estudio
de la historia de la arquitectura, de qué manera y qué perspectivas podría aportar.},
abstract = {Focho made more than 40 drawings, vignettes and illustrations for CAU magazine between
1979 and 1982. His last contribution was 10 pages entitled “El alojamiento moderno en
España: historia de constructores, vanguardias y soportes” (Modern Housing in Spain:
a history of builders, avant gardes and supports) a graphic history of social housing since
1920, where he deploys careful drawings and uses different systems of representation
with great ingenuity. This paper has three objectives. First, taking this singular example,
to contextualize one of the debates that focused the attention of the academic and professional
panorama of the time. Secondly, to unravel the keys of this graphic story, a sort of
hybrid communicative format. Finally, the aim is to discuss, as some recent studies have
suggested, whether humor, and among them graphic humor, can be used for the dissemination
and study of the history of architecture, in what way, and what perspectives it could
contribute.},
