abstract = {Estudiamos en este artículo un fenómeno fonético característico del árabe de Ouled Teima y sus alrededores. Se trata de la ‘imāla’ de la ]a[ en final de palabra, un fenómeno que se nos revela adecuadísimo para el estudio sociolingüístico,  por obedecer, plenamente a los requisitos establecidos por la literatura sociolingüística. Señalamos que la ‘imāla’ consiste en un cambio según el cual las vocales /a/ y /aː/ se realizan, respectivamente, como ]e[ y ]eː[ o incluso como ]i[ e ]i[ː.

El análisis sociolingüístico de este fenómeno ha permitido descartar su aparente carácter libre y aleatorio, descubriendo una extraordinaria sistematicidad relativa a su uso. Por añadidura,  el mismo análisis ha permitido observar un cambio lingüístico en curso liderado por grupos con niveles educativos altos.},
abstract = {In this article we study a phonetic phenomenon wich characterizes the Arabic of Ouled Teima and its surroundings. It is the 'imāla' of the [a] at the end of the word, a phenomenon that reveals itself very suitable for sociolinguistic study, obeying fully to the requirements established by sociolinguistic literature. We note that the 'imāla' consists of a change according to which the vowels /a/ and /aː/ are pronounced, respectively, as [e] and [eː] or even as [i] and [iː].

The sociolinguistic analysis of this phenomenon has allowed us to discard its apparent free and random character, discovering an extraordinary systematization related to its use. In addition to this, the same analysis has shown an ongoing linguistic change led by groups with high educational levels.},
