abstract = {Based on corpus, this study analyses the locution "a fuerza de" + noun/infinitive throughout the history of Spanish. In order to document its grammaticalisation process, it is verified the loss of some constructions in Medieval Spanish. Later, during the 16th-17th centuries, there are predominance of locutions with nouns ("a fuerza de brazos"). It is in the 18th century when the locution starts to be constructed with infinitive ("a fuerza de tratar..."), the same use of our days.},
