It contains a survey of the kinetic models developed in the last ten years on the afore-mentioned topics so that overlapping with previous reviews can be avoided. Although the main focus of this paper lies on the mesoscopic models for collective dynamics, we provide a brief overview on the corresponding micro and macroscopic models, and discuss intermediate role of mesoscopic model between them. Moreover, we provide a number of selected challenging research perspectives for readers' attention.}, organization = {MINECO-Feder MTM2014-53406-R, RTI2018-098850-B-I00, Junta de Andalucía FQM 954 , Ministerio de Educación Cultura y Deporte FPU2014/06304 (Spain), MIUR Departments of Excellence 2018-2022 project Computer Science for Industry 4.0, GNCS-INdAM 2019 project Numerical approximation of hyperbolic problems and applications, Fondazione di Sardegna project Algorithms for Approximation with Applications (Acube) (Italy), National Research Foundation of Korea project NRF-2017R1A2B2001864 (Republic of Korea).}, publisher = {World Scientific}, keywords = {Active particles}, keywords = {Kinetic equations}, keywords = {Vehicular traffic}, keywords = {Human crowds}, keywords = {Swarms}, keywords = {Multiscale vision}, title = {Vehicular traffic, crowds, and swarms.
