With this paper and attending to the results of the main research developed at national
and international level concerning child-to-parent violence, we intend to approach this
phenomenon and we place it as a third subtype of domestic violence. From the perspective of
the sex of perpetrator and the victim we find that is occurring an equalization with regard to the
sex of the offender child, increasing the number of offenders females. Nevertheless, the truth is
that the profile of the son who mistreats his parents is still a male, in the same line of what the
delinquency globally considered has traditionally followed. On the other hand, virtually all the
revised research indicate that the mother is the most frequent victim, whether biological or
adoptive, either alone or with other family members. All this makes us reflect on whether to
understand and to deepen in the analysis of the child-to-parent violence as a type of violence
against women.
