Género y ciencia. Una relación fructífera

Abstract

Este breve trabajo pretende hacer una revisión muy sucinta acerca de la polémica -y fértil- relación que actualmente se establece entre los conceptos género y ciencia, así como de las temáticas fundamentales que genera o se le vinculan. Así, pretendo delimitar especialmente el concepto de género y las principales corrientes en epistemología feminista que lo interpretan; daremos cuenta también de algunas críticas a estas tendencias y de sus temáticas afines más importantes con la Filosofía de la Ciencia. Las principales reflexiones sobre género y ciencia se desarrollan en el seno mismo de la Filosofía de la Ciencia y en los llamados Estudios sobre Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad (CTS). Otro objetivo importante es exponer el estado de la cuestión actual a este respecto.

This brief paper presents a succinct overview of the controversial -and fertile- relationship involving the concepts of gender and science as well as the fundamental themes generated or linked to it. Moreover, I attempt to define the concept of gender and the main trends in feminist epistemology to interpret this. I will also explain the criticism towards these trends in the Philosophy of Science. The main considerations on gender and science are developed in the same field of the Philosophy of Science and in the so-called Studies on Science, Technology and Society. Another important aim is to expose the current status quaestionis on this matter.
