Evaluación del estado nutricional mediante parámetros antropométricos y protéicos en una población hospitalizada

Se ha evaluado el estado nutritivo de una población hospitalizada mayor de 60 años. De un total de 218 individuos, 188 fueron seleccionados dependiendo de la patología motivo de ingreso. El grupo control estaba compuesto por 30 individuos recogidos de entre los acompañantes de los pacientes. Los métodos encaminados a la evaluación nutricional de cada uno de los sujetos consistieron en una evaluación general: peso, talla, peso ideal (población española), porcentaje peso ideal e índices ponderales: peso/talla, peso/talla 1,5, peso/talla). Evaluación antropométrica: pliegues tricipital y subescapular, perímetro braquial, área del brazo, áreas muscular y adiposa del brazo, porcentaje de grasa corporal y densidad corporal. Evaluación proteica: proteínas totales, albúmina, transferrina, prealbúmina, proteína ligadora del retinol. Evaluación hematológica y bioquímica: número de hematies, leucocitos, linfocitos, monocitos, hb, transaminasas y bilirrubina directa e indirecta. El estudio de regresión múltiple permitió calcular una serie de formulas matemáticas que denominamos significadores nutritivos y que utilizando de manera conjunta un parámetro general (peso/talla) un parámetro antropométrico (pliegue tricipital) y una o dos proteicas plasmáticas, nos evaluasen de manera más exacta, el estado nutritivo del individuo.
