Arte ibero y poesía: “La Dama de Baza”

Abstract

Es la recuperación de un artículo periodístico aparecido en el suplemento cultural del periódico "Ideal" el 4 de septiembre de 2001. Es la reproducción y comentario de un poema del poeta vasco Gabriel Celaya aparecido en su obra "Iberia sumergida" de 1978. Aparte de su interpretación histórica, que el autor del artículo no comparte, sí glosa la intencionalidad del poeta al identificar a la Dama de Baza como Diosa Madre, como Diosa de la muerte, pero sobre todo, como maestra de la primitiva y vieja Iberia, origen de los pueblos de España.

This is the recovery of an article that appeared in the cultural supplement of the periodical "Ideal" on the 4th of September, 2001. It is a reproduction of and commentary a poem by the Basque poet Gabriel Celaya that appeared in his work "Iberia sumergida", 1978. Apart from its historical interpretation, which the author of the article does not agree with, he tells us about the poet's intention when he identifies the Lady of Baza as a Mother goddess, Death goddess, and above all, as a teacher of the primitive and old Iberia, the origin of Spanish villages.
