This project saw that year 5 Primary School students from the Inmaculada del Triunfo
were able to gain a basic understanding of the heritage of the Albayzin, thus enabling
them a deeper comprehension the district and city that they live in. The main aim was
that they are able to better conserve and assign a value to this area. In this project, aimed
at the heritage of the Albayzin, a district of great cultural interest situated in the city of
Granada; we have explored topics such as: the streets, squares and view points, the
water and its reservoirs, the domestic architecture, places of interest, monuments, hand
made goods and the Arabic baths. The project ended with the realisation of a trip so that
the students were able to see in real life all of the knowledge obtained in class, and that
they will come to retain the specific information about what it means to have a heritage.
