Estudio sobre la actitud y la utilización de medios de información y comunicación por alumnos con déficit visual

Abstract

En la actual Sociedad del Conocimiento, también conocida como Sociedad de la Información y de la Comunicación), se ha incrementado el acceso a la información, pero también se ha dificultado o excluido para determinadas poblaciones. Esta investigación analiza el acceso, interés y uso de los medios de comunicación para el colectivo de alumnos con deficiencia visual, a través de entrevistas a 9 alumnos del contexto de Melilla (España), a las que se aplica el análisis de contenido y porcentual. Los datos arrojan resultados de los que se puede concluir que existen diferencias individuales de acuerdo con las características de su déficit (baja visión y ceguera) y su nivel socioeducativo. Pese a ello, se han evidenciado algunas dificultades comunes para acceder a Internet, ordenador, Revistas, DVD, cine e incluso la TV, que han de ser superadas en pro de la inclusión de estas personas, para no incrementar la brecha digital, ya abierta.

The access to information for the most part of the citizens is exponentially increased by the Society of Knowledge (Society of Information and Communication). However, it makes difficult or excludes that access to certain groups of people. This investigation analyses this phenomenon regarding the group of students with sight deficiency as well as their attitude, interest and possibilities for the access and use of information. To undertake this, interviews have been carried out to 9 students from Melilla (Spain), which have been analysed according to their content and statistically. One of the conclusions derived from the analysis is that there are individual differences as far as their sight handicap (low vision and blindness) and their socioeducational level are concerned. Another conclusion is the fact that the students’ difficulties to access to the Internet, computers, magazines, DVDs, cinema, and even television are high and common to all of them.
