Algunos problemas de traducción cultural en el Maŷlis fī damm al-hašīša de Ibn Gānim al-Maqdisī (m. 1279-1280)

Abstract

El análisis de los problemas planteados por la traducción de la terminología árabe sufí recogida en el Maŷlis fī damm al-hašīša de Ibn Gānim al-Maqdisī (m. 1279-1280) corrobora la idea de que el éxito de una traducción cultural depende fundamentalmente de que el traductor sea capaz de trasladar fielmente al lector de la traducción el mismo sentido referencial y connotativo comprendido por la audiencia original del texto, y no meramente su sentido denotativo o designativo.

Analysis of the issues raised by the translation of the Arabic Sufi terminology contained in the Majlis fī dhamm al-hashīsha by Ibn Ghānim al-Maqdisī (d.1279-1280) confirm the idea that the success of a cultural translation depends primarily on the translator’s ability to translate faithfully to the reader of the translation the same referential and connotative meaning understood by the original audience of the text, and not merely its denotative or designative meaning.
