Filosofía y patologías de civilización: libertad y miedo

Abstract

El objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar lo que creo que puede ser considerada como una de las patologías de nuestras sociedades occidentales: el miedo exacerbado, amplificado por los medios de comunicación y rentable para ciertas políticas. El análisis se desarrolla en dos niveles: uno óntico y también en diversos niveles ontológicos. En la parte ontológica, se trata de lograr una definición de la patología que puede servir como esquema inicial para reflexiones posteriores. Tanto en lo óntico y el nivel ontológico, el punto fundamental de referencia es la filosofía de Spinoza. Después de una breve reflexión sobre una posible terapia de la patología del miedo, la reflexión acaba con una breve nota sobre el papel de la filosofía, hoy en día, en cuanto terapia.

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze what I think can be considered one of the pathologies of our occidental societies: exacerbated fear, amplified by the mass media and profitable for certain politics. The analysis is developed in two levels: the ontic and the ontological levels. In the ontological part, it deals with achieving a definition of pathology that can serve as initial outline for subsequent reflections. Both in ontic and the ontological level, the fundamental point of reference is Spinoza´s philosophy. After a brief reflection on a possible therapy of the pathology of fear, this paper end with a brief note on the role of the philosophy today, of the philosophy as therapy.
