abstract = {Existe un grupo de personas, cada vez más numeroso, que se autodefinen como "asexuales". Sostienen que no sienten atracción sexual ni por los varones ni por las mujeres. No se consideran heterosexuales, homosexuales o bisexuales. Se sienten personas corrientes y normales, reclaman el reconocimiento por parte de la sociedad de los derechos de la sexualidad en cualquiera de sus formas, y en consecuencia de la suya propia, es decir, de la identidad asexual. Para conseguir este objetivo han creado un sitio en la red: Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN). Es el foco de una comunidad virtual que se ha extendido por todo el mundo, y aumenta el número de personas que comparten sus opiniones y se apoyan para seguir viviendo sin sexo sin que ello les cause ningún trauma o sufrimiento. La cuestión que se plantea es la siguiente: ¿Es útil la categoría de identidad "asexual" para construir un modelo fértil de las orientaciones sexuales de los miembros de nuestra sociedad?},
abstract = {An increasing group of people define themselves as "asexual". They say that they do not feel sexual attraction either for men or for women. They do not regard themselves as heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. They feel like normal people and claim the social recognition of the sexual rights in all their variants, including their own, which is the asexual identity. To achieve this, they havecreated a web-page: Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN). This webpage represents a virtual community which has spread all over the world. An increasing number of participants interchange opinions and support each other in order to keep on living without sex while trying not to provoke trauma or suffering. Against this background, we deal with the following question: Is the concept of "asexual" identity appropriate to work out a theoretical model of sexual orientation of the members in our society?},
