Between 1960 and 1963, the Peruvian poet and novelist Manuel Scorza participated in one of the big rural rebellions that have taken place in Peru, a rebellion that become one of many in the country that, except for that of Túpac Amaru, have been forgotten. This experience inspired a series of five novels, titled The Silent War. The author of this article intends to demonstrate how the mythical unfolding that Scorza carries out in the series heads toward a very concrete end: the explanation of the survival of the same myths in the current Peru. 2011-01-31T10:17:06Z 2011-01-31T10:17:06Z 1998-06 info:eu-repo/semantics/article Sentís Maté, Roser; González Soto, Juan.
