What role do the elderly play in modern society? Currently, Spain is at a demographic moment characterized by progressive aging of the population, a spectacular descent in birth rate, and a gradual increase in the rate of dependence. Nevertheless, the population continues to grow by way of two fundamental factors: the vegetative growth characteristic of the population, and the arrival of immigrants. In this text, we make a brief analysis of the relationships that exist between the aging of the Spanish population, the elderly, and immigration, ultimately in order to offer a reflection on age in the multicultural society in which we live. 2011-01-25T09:10:55Z 2011-01-25T09:10:55Z 2002-03 info:eu-repo/semantics/article Tarrés Chamorro, Sol.
