El arte moderno como material pedagógico

Abstract

La tarea del arte no es formar artistas, sino ampliar la capacidad perceptiva de la gente. La obra de arte es un factor de educación. El arte solo admite ser percibido siempre como por primera vez. Las obras maestras, siempre inquietantes, siempre desconocidas, son las que imponen ser vistas siempre de nuevo. El objetivo de nuestra propuesta educativa no es el arte, sino la nueva percepción del mundo y de la vida que el arte ha hecho consciente. No enseñamos a mirar arte, es el arte quien nos enseña a mirar. El educador debe tratar de comprender el proceso artístico como estímulo a la creación de nuevos sistemas perceptivos y ser capaz de transmitirlo. Por ello, hemos incorporado en los Grados de Educación Infantil y de Educación Primaria el análisis de la obra de artistas que han planteado explícitamente nuevas capacidades perceptivas. A partir de estas obras los futuros maestros han propuesto ejercicios a los alumnos de primaria, siempre curiosos. A su vez, los niños han devuelto una propuesta, su descubrimiento. Serán nuevas obras, reflejo en un espejo deformado de las obras de esos autores: John Cage, Bob Wilson, Merce Cunninhham, Lazló Moholy-Nagy, Alexander Calder, Dada y Llorenç Barber.

The task of art is not to train artists, but rather to expand the perceptual ability of people. Artwork is a factor in education. Art only ever allows itself to be perceived for the first time. Masterpieces, always unsettling, always unknown, are the ones that impose always being seen anew. The aim of our educational proposal is not art, but rather the new perception of the world and of life that art has raised awareness of. We do not teach how to look at art; it is art who teaches us how to look. Educators must attempt to understand the artistic process as a stimulus for the creation of new perceptual systems and be able to transmit it. Therefore, we incorporated in the Degrees in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Training the analysis of the work of artists who have explicitly posed new perceptual abilities. Based on these works, the future teachers proposed exercises for primary school children, who are always curious. In turn, the children returned a proposal, their discovery. These will be new works, a reflection in a distorted mirror of the works of these authors: John Cage, Bob Wilson, MerceCunninhham, Lazló Moholy-Nagy, Alexander Calder, Dada, and Llorenç Barber.
