Inmigración extranjera, formación e interculturalidad

Abstract

El interes por la interculturalidad en España se convierte en tema relevante de estudio y preocupación en fecha muy reciente. La perspectiva intercultural ante la diversidad tiene cita en el espacio y en el tiempo: coincide con la presencia cada vez más numerosa de inmigrantes extranjeros extracomunitarios y los hijos de éstos en las escuelas a lo largo de la última década. El interés por la interculturalidad en España se convierte en tema relevante de estudio y Una primera cuestión que hay que dilucidar si queremos descubrir los lenguajes ocultos e inconscientes en el ámbito de la interculturalidad, es «dimensionar» el volumen de población extranjera que debería ser objeto de atención desde la formación intercultural. Porque puede que nos encontremos con un volumen de extranjeros procedentes de la inmigración no tan abundante como parece deducirse de algunos discursos que hablan de la invasión de inmigrantes o indican que España ha pasado de ser un país de emigración a un país de inmigración. Como medida cautelar en relación con este último dato, debe recordarse el peso de los emigrantes frente al de los inmigrantes en España, lo que debería hacer moderar algunos discursos sobre la supuesta «invasión». Tras esta revisión de la presencia de extranjeros en el sistema educativo, pre s e n t a re m o s una propuesta organizada de las acciones de formación intercultural que se han llevado a cabo en España recientemente, incluyendo una breve descripción de ellas. The interest for interculturalism in spain becomes a topic of study quite recently. The intercultural perspective for diversity has a date in space and time : it coincides with the more and more higher presence of extracommunitarian foregn immigrants and their children in school during the last ten years. A fisrt question we have to make clear if we want to discover the hidden and unconscious languages within the area of interculturalism, is to dimension the number of foreign population that should be an object of attention for intercultural training. Because it may happen that we find that the number of foreign imimigrants is not as high as it seems from some speeches talking about the immigrants invasion or indicating that Spain has passed from on emigration country toan immigration country. As a restrictive measure to this last data, we should remember that the number of Spanish emigrants is higher than the number of immigrants that Spain receives, what should moderate some of the speeches on the supposed invasion. After the revision of the presence of immigrants in the educational system, we will present an organized proposal of some intercultural formative actions that have been carried out recently in Spain, including a brief description of them. We will conclude making some reflections about intercultural training should be.
