Ceuta en el siglo IX

Abstract

El dominio de Ceuta por los musulmanes, después de haber conquistado estos la Mauritania Tingitana, no está bien precisado en las fuentes. Lo mismo ocurre respecto a si fueron bizantinos o visigodos sus últimos poseedores cristianos. En este trabajo se establecen algunas rectificaciones y aclaraciones, basándonos en fuentes antiguas y en la que creemos correcta interpretación de las manejadas usualmente. Ceuta no fue conquistada, sino que entró pacíficamente en la órbita islámica después de la muerte de don Julián. La revolución beréber del 740 motivó su desertización que acabó cuando se fundó en ella una dinastía beréber-tetuaní, que duró hasta su ocupación por ʿAbd al-Raḥman III. Todo ello configura un interesante siglo IX ceutí, muy poco conocido.

The IX century ofthe Ceuta's hlstory is very interesting and little known too. Nevertheless the problem is a matter of interpretation of sources. We do another reading to ancient sources, like the former arabic geographes, or the last clasics like Bakri or ibn Jaldun. Ceuta was not conquered but occupied peacefully, after don Julian death, and afterwards dominated by a berber dynastie called maŷakasa. The last king of these dynastie gives hls rule to the Spanish Caliph, ʿAbd al-Raḥman III, but thls happened in the X century.
