This paper we hypothesize that obese people showing awareness and commitment will not show greater delay discounting than non-obese individuals. To test this hypothesis, we focus on a small subsample of obese individuals. Specifically, our pool of obese people is composed of members of an association dedicated to helping obese people keep their weight under control who, moreover, have been treated surgically for morbid obesity. We interpret these two ingredients as signals of awareness and commitment.es_ES
