Estructura narrativa y cruce de discursos en el relato Hadit al-qarya de Mahmud Tahir Lasin: La jutba como elemento retórico

Abstract

Este artículo analiza en primer lugar la estructura narrativa del conocido relato “Conversación en la aldea”, debido al escritor egipcio Mahmud Tahir Lasin. En segundo lugar, muestra cómo la interferencia de cuatro modelos de discurso (el orientalista, el popular, el modernista y el tradicional de raíz religiosa) revela la polifonía inherente al texto. En último lugar, se concentra en analizar los instrumentos retóricos presentes en la jutba que pronuncia uno de los personajes para conseguir influir en la audiencia de campesinos.

This article analyses firstly the narrative structure of the well-known short story “A village talk” of the Egyptian writer Mahmud Tahir Lashin. Secondly, it shows how the interference of four models of discourses (the orientalist, the popular, the modernist and the traditional or religious oriented one) reveals the polyphony of the text. Finally, it concentrates on the rhetorical means used in a rural khutba in order to influence the peasants’ minds.
