La figura de Isabel I a través de las obras históricas y literarias coetáneas del reinado. Una aproximación historiográfica

Abstract

La “atracción” que ejerce entre los historiadores Isabel I, reina de Castilla, ha propiciado que sea una de las figuras más analizadas y estudiadas desde todas las perspectivas posibles, por lo que presenta una gran dificultad aportar algo novedoso sobre esta reina. El presente trabajo pretende ofrecer una visión historiográfica del perfil de esta reina católica a través de sus contemporáneos. Cómo la vieron y la reflejaron los cronistas oficiales, los historiadores y los literatos de la época, y cómo utilizaron el elemento propagandístico para modelar a una reina perfecta.

The “attraction” that this character exercises, it has borne that it is one of the analysed figures and studied from all the possible perspectives, for what presents a great difficulty to contribute something novel on this queen. The present work seeks to offer a visión historiography of this Catholic queen’s, through its contemporaries. How they saw it and the official columnists, the historians and the writers of the time reflected it, but always without forgetting the propagandistic element. The regal propaganda is presented, to our view, like one of the essential elements, to understand the profile that was forged of the queen Isabella in the chronicles and histories.
