El ritual de ablación en la novela 'Les soleils des indépendances' y su práctica en el colectivo africano residente en España

Abstract

El objetivo que perseguimos en este artículo es dar a conocer, de la mano del escritor Ahmadou Kourouma, el ritual de ablación en la tribu malinké, su tribu. Plasmaremos las distintas fases del citado ceremonial basándonos en su primera novela Les soleils des indépendances (1970), una obra impregnada del espíritu malinké. De este modo testimoniamos el compromiso de la literatura frente a este tipo de rituales, todavía hoy tan arraigados en determinados grupos sociales africanos. El crecimiento demográfico del colectivo de inmigrantes de origen subsahariano en nuestro país, nos ha llevado, por otra parte, a tratar el tema de la práctica de las mutilaciones genitales femeninas en España y sus consecuencias.

The aim of this article is to raise awareness concerning the ritual of female genital mutilation in the Malinké tribe in the words of the writer and Malinké tribe member, Ahmadou Kourouma. We will show the different phases of this ceremony based on his first novel 'Les Soleils des Indépendances' (1970), a work full of the Malinké spirit. In this way we witness literature's commitment against these types of rituals, ones which are still deeply rooted in certain social African groups. The demographic growth of the immigrant community from Sub-Sahara in our country, has brought us, on the other hand, to deal with the issue of the practice of female genital mutilation in Spain and its consequences.
