abstract = {We present an ethnohistorical study of the figure of Judas, symbolically opposed to Jesus. The article describes the character, his different images, and his significant actions in the rituals of Easter, New Years' Day and Carnival, as well as in other similar rituals carried out in different contexts. Special attention is paid to the legends. We also analyze the interpretations and the functions of this complex ritual.},
