abstract = {La historiografía tradicionalmente ha estudiado al converso desde la perspectiva inquisitorial, centrando su atención en las terribles persecuciones sufridas por el grupo. Así, la herejía judaica ha oscurecido una realidad mucho más importante, la que demuestra que el cristiano nuevo logró integrarse en aquella sociedad a pesar de la Inquisición, la limpieza de sangre y, en general, la cruel persecución social e institucional a la que fue sometido. Linajes como los Córdoba-Ronquillo ejemplifican a la perfección esta tendencia, pues su asimilación no solo fue total, sino que además algunos de sus miembros lograron ascender socialmente a pesar de las enormes trabas impuestas por un sistema puramente discriminatorio.},
abstract = {Traditionally, historiography has studied conversos from the inquisitorial perspective, focusing its attention on the persecution suffered by this group from the Holy Office. Hence, Judaic heresy has overshadowed a much more important reality, which demonstrated that the new Christians were able to become part of that society despite the Inquisition, the limpieza de sangre (blood cleansing) and, generally speaking, the cruel social and institutional persecution he was subdued to. Lineages such as Córdoba- Ronquillo show are a perfect example of it, because, despite the hindrance imposed by a purely discriminatory system, not only was this integration total, but also some of their members achieved upward mobility.},
